The Junius Fire Department was formed in 1948. The original station was located on Dublin Road. The fire district covers 25 square miles and protects about 1400 residents. In the early 1990's a new station was built on Rt. 318 to house more trucks in a growing fleet. As the new trucks were bigger in size and would not fit in the old Dublin station a new fire house was built next door. The old fire house was sold to the town to use as a community center. Currently we have 2 engines, 1 rescue and 1 tanker and work out of the 2 stations.
The fire dept is support through a fire tax as well as fund raisers. In our district we have the Waterloo Premium outlet center, Wadhams trucking as some of our larger businesses.
